Among the Pakistani and Indian designers at Chicago Global Runway on Friday, June 24, the Akira collection stood out for its connection to the Chicago style scene. Models dressed head to toe in clothes, accessories and shoes from the local eight-year-old boutique took to the runway with something the other designers lacked: edge.
Chicago-based Pakistani designer Sahar Dada showcased her latest collection to a packed house at the Chicago Cultural Center on Friday, June 24. The first annual Chicago Global Runway featured designs from Dada, Mani Kohli, Akira and Payal Singhal.
