There’s more to Bollywood dancing than dramatic facial expressions, furtive looks, and exaggerated moves. BBC Magazine does a pretty nice job of breaking down the basics, the history, and the origins of Bollywood dance.

Classical dance forms such as Bharatnatyam and Kathak, and folk dances such as Bhangra, each have their own unique styles, but they often share signs and meanings that are combined to create modern Bollywood dances.
