And in Bollywood “Teri Meri Kahaani” gets lukewarm reviews while Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur” opened the London Indian Film Festival.
The Best Show Ever?
Mindy Kaling’s new Fox comedy “The Mindy Project has snagged some of Hollywood’s most coveted writers. From “Community”, two veteran writers, along with the creator of “Malcolm in the Middle” and a director from “Modern Family” have joined Kaling’s team.
Bollywood Goes to London
Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur” opened the London Indian Film Festival on Friday. Bollywood’s biggest names like Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra, directors Asif Kapadia “Trishna’s” Michael Winterbottom , and Sidharth Sharma were all spotted on the red carpet. The festival, which runs from June 20 to July 3, is set to show plenty more Indian films including Sharma’s thriller “Arjun and Alison.” [IBN Live]
Does it Sizzle or Fizzle
The three-generation love story “Teri Meri Kahaani” starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra received mixed reviews from critics this week. The main pitfalls were of the film were reportedly in its weak plot and unoriginal storyline. Yet other critics like OneIndia were more forgiving saying it, “Has the capability in it to revive the long forgotten romantic era of Bollywood.” [Hindustan Times]
