Too much celebrity news doing the rounds? Allow us to give you the gist of the last seven days in entertainment. Frieda Pinto and Director Anurag Kashyap head to Cannes for the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Meanwhile Habib Faisal’s romantic drama “Ishaqzaade” came out strong in the box office in its opening weekend and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan takes heat from critics over her post-baby body.

All dolled up. Freida Pinto turned heads on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Donning a light pink Michael Angel gown, the actress attended the premiere of Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom.” Pinto might also have a new film project in the works as rumors spread she is set to star in U.K. production “Desert Dancer,” based on the life of Iranian dancer Afshin Ghaffarian. Keep ‘em laughing. Comedian Aziz Ansari will take time out of his “Buried Alive” tour make a pit stop in New York for the inaugural Great Googamooga, food-and-drink festival. Other performers on the star-studded lineup include Fitz and the Tantrums,  Peelander-Z,  and actress/comedian from “Flight of the Concord,” Kristen Schaal. (NY Mag)

Rustic romance. Habib Faisal’s new romance flick, “Ishaqzaade” is proving to be a force at the box office. The Arjun Parineeti starrer raked in 16 crore in its opening weekend. The film, which also stars Parineeti Chopra, also made its mark as the fifth biggest first day opener after Agneepath. (Hindustan Times)

Cloud nine. Director Anurag Kashyap’s “Gangs of Wasseypur” will open the third London Indian Film Festival this summer. This will be Kashyap’s fourth screening at a major festival this year after three of his films, “Peddlers” and “Gangs Of Wasseypur Parts I & II,” were chosen to be screened at the 65th Cannes Film Festival. Size 0? Just days after new mom Aishwarya Rai Bachchan confirmed plans to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, critics are slamming the actress failing to return to her pre-baby physique. A clip of Aishwarya’s curvy, post-baby body with elephants wailing in the background has reportedly gotten over 500,000 hits online. Despite the mounting criticism, the actress has not chosen not to comment directly. (Yahoo!)
