Actress Mindy Kaling began filming for her FOX comedy pilot this week, while actor Aziz Ansari mowed the lawns in Central Park. On the other side of the world, “Parineeta” director Pradeep Sarkar is set to make another romance film, and Disney teamed up with IPL’s Mumbai Indians.
Tom Haverford hits Central Park. “Parks & Recreation” star Aziz Ansari brought his character’s job to life on Monday, helping New York City’s field maintenance crew mow the lawns in Central Park. The NBC comedy revolves around the lives of employees at a fictional Indiana parks department. NYC Parks commissioner Adrian Benepe said the show “makes us proud at Parks to do the work that we do”. Mindy, a barefoot Bridget. After picking out an A-list cast for her new FOX comedy, actress Mindy Kaling got to work filming the pilot after recently adding her Office co-star Ed Helms to her coup. Kaling, who plays a Bridget Jones-type OB/GYN, was seen running barefoot through the streets of L.A. while filming on Tuesday. (Boston Globe)
Panjabi poses for Vanity Fair. The “Good Wife” star Archie Panjabi is gracing the pages of this month’s Vanity Fair along with a few of the other biggest actresses on television. The “Evening in America” spread gives an inside look at the best shows on television and features Panjabi, Emmy Rossum, Emily Deschanel, Grace Park, Kat Dennings, and more. (SheWired)
Post-Parineeta Pradeep. Director Pradeep Sarkar, who launched current leading lady Vidya Balan in his 2005 romantic saga “Parineeta”, is set to make another love story. It will be the third of a five-year, three-film contract with Yash Raj Films. Though his last two films, “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” (2007) and “Lafangey Parindey” (2010), failed to impress critics and audiences alike, Sarkar hopes Balan will join him if she likes the script. Mickey does cricket. As IPL’s fifth season kicks off, the Mumbai Indians and Disney Consumer Products collaborated to launch the Mickey Cricket collection, a limited edition merchandise line for kids. The collection, which includes apparel, accessories, footwear, stationary, and toys, all feature Mickey Mouse characters in cricket-geared clothing.
