Weekend Laugh: President Obama Keeps Aziz Ansari’s Ego in Check

Aziz Ansari is widely known for his work as a stand-up comedian and role as wannabe Lothario Tom Haverford on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”. Ansari also rolls with the likes of Kanye West and Jay-Z, because he’s cool like that. And so it comes as no surprise that the wise would advise him to keep his ego in check. But when the one to bring you down a level is none other than President Barack Obama, it’s kind of a big deal. Big enough that a mere shout-out from the Commander-in-Chief could very well inflate your ego to the nines.

And that is exactly what happened in New York City when Obama, in town for a 2012 campaign fundraiser, took it upon himself to give Ansari a reality check as the latter’s fame continues to rise. While Ansari played emcee at the event held at ABC Kitchen, BO comically shared a few words about the event’s main host. In the video below, we find ourselves smirking at several instances–but the real kicker is Obama’s “I’m better than you!” moment with Ansari. We’re a long way off from counting votes for the general, but when it comes to counting Twitter followers, not even one of comedy’s biggest stars can beat the Big O.

Moral: We all need someone to keep us in check and, if you’re Aziz Ansari, that man just might the POTUS himself.
