M.I.A. made her Super Bowl halftime show debut Sunday performing alongside Madonna and Nicki Minaj, and she made some sneaky moves that grabbed headlines and upset the NFL. The Sri Lankan’s guest rap was punchy, in your face and laced with sass–complete with a middle finger flashed so fast censors couldn’t catch it.

M.I.A. flipped the bird during her verse in Madonna’s latest single, “Give Me All Your Luvin”, during which she also managed to drop an s-bomb that was insufficiently bleeped. NBC promptly responded for allowing all of America to hear M.I.A. say “I don’t give a shit” in a statement following the game.

“Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers,” said NBC, according to Rolling Stone. The NFL also issued an apology, placing the blame squarely on NBC’s shoulders.

Appropriately enough, M.I.A. released her latest single last week. It’s called “Bad Girls“.
