Mindy Kaling Gets Promoted at “The Office”
With Steve Carrell out, the future of “The Office” seems shaky, to say the least. James Spader will take his place, but viewers may also be looking forward to the slew of guest stars NBC is bringing in to fill the void (John Groban is one of them, like, OMG). But in the midst of all these flashy new names, let’s not forget the show’s veteran cast members who are sticking around. For Mindy Kaling, at least, signing on for another season paid off — she will be adding “Executive Producer” to her resume, likely next to actor, writer and Tweeter, according to reports today.
And that’s not all. The multifaceted comedian will also get to write and develop a new show of her own. Oh, and her book, “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns)” comes out November 1. Well, well, well, Ms. Kaling. Looks like you’re doing alright these days. We’re glad someone’s getting promoted in this economy.
